In July, 2009, I flew back to the Midwest for a family of families reunion. The Taubes, Christiansens, Bredows and Aunt Peggy all gathered at the Lutheran Island Camp in the western wilds of Minnesota where we had a chance to reconnect, eat, play golf, kayak and sit adrift on a lake as our boat RAN OUT OF GAS. Using my brother's idea to make sails out of the beach towels, we pulled in close enough to shore to get a gallon that took us back to the other side of the island. A great week with family and friends.
